About my business and how I got here
PLUMA is a South Tampa online shopping experience focusing on locally and internationally sourced seasonal apparel, resort wear, accessories, and novelty gifts. Pluma is Spanish for feather, a metaphor for how each woman wears their style, just like a bird and its beautiful feathers. Mary Lou Ortiz, PLUMA's founder, also provides private shopping and styling services by appointment. Providing women of Tampa access to local and international brands distinguishes PLUMA from other shopping experiences in the area. The concept has regional exclusivity for over ten brands, ensuring clients can shop items that aren't found anywhere else in Tampa and in some cases, Florida. Supporting these smaller, entrepreneurial designers is the cornerstone of Mary Lou's business philosophy.
